Hey it's lindsay

1. So far this quarter, I have worked a lot in the studio as camera person and audio and floor director and other various jobs. I have also helped out with the 4cast. I have filmed b-roll for stories and i thought of a credits idea that was used! (I was pretty proud of that one haha)

2. I have seen improvement in my creative side. I am NOT a funny person so thinking of an idea for the credits and sharing it with the class was a big deal for me. Even though someone else took credit for coming up with the idea but that's okay. I am MUCH better at camera shots now compared to in the past where it would be all shaky and panning/zooming all over the place.

3. I still need to improve my anchoring skills. I get so nervous that my voice shakes and I can't read the teleprompter! (Embarrassing)

4. I think in order to make our show better that we should all work as a team. I have been in the broadcasting program since the first quarter of the 4Cast and I still kind of feel ...out of the loop. Most of the kids get along great but I always feel left out/ignored. When I need help with something i'll say something and nobody will respond to me even though I know they heard me. People talk about others behind their back, and we wonder why nobody signs up for stories or the credits? It's because they either don't have time or because they don't want to get criticized for not doing a "good job".

5. I have not done community service yet and I desperately want to help out with concessions tonight but there is a huge Speech Team invite at Eastview tomorrow and tonight I have practice and set-up for the tournament. I plan to create a longer version of the skating story I did and give it to the two eastview families along with the team's coaches.

6. Everyone has done a great job with staying on task this quarter and I hope we can continue being ahead of the game.

1.) So far this quarter I have done the boys swimming story, and i've had a job nearly everyweek for the flash. I also feel that I helped a lot in brainstorming ideas for stories.

2.)My improvement I feel has come in managing the rate and times at which I get my stories done (not procrastinating and taking advantage of filming opportunities) and putting quality and variety into my stories. My shots have become much more creative and there is also a variety to them.

3.)I think my improvement could come in designing graphics. I'd like to be able to start making those as well so not just a few people are making them before every show. And i'm still very interested in learning how to do aftereffects!

4.)I'm pretty sure everyone is going to say this but NEW OPEN. I think we're seen enough in main part of the show that we should get things happening around eastview as our open. I also think really watching our shots in our stories and not trying to overdo them.

5.)I'm in the middle of my community service. I'm doing boy swimming for the yearbook and now i just need to get an interview to cover their entire year hopefully after sections or state. then put together that segment.

6.)nope! have fun at the polar bear plunge!

Emma here.

1. Here is a list of the things I have done so far this quarter:
-Minnesota Wild Stories (short version for the show and longer version to submit for the contest)
-STN Battle of the Bands Story
-Anchored on Celebrity Day with Sam
-Helped with the Summer Activities credits
-Helped film and edited the Roger credits

2. I think this quarter I have improved in editing. I can edit MUCH faster than I used to be able to and now I can add transitions :) Haha.

3. I want to learn how to do things on AfterEffects, Photoshop and on some other programs. I think we should have another tutorial day like we did for Photoshop- I thought that was really interesting and a great use of our time.

4. I would like to see a new open every couple of weeks, although I think it is unlikely. I also am going to be honest and say that there are some people in the class who need to step it up. There are a few people who always seem to be doing the work and some who just seem to be sliding by by not doing anything. This is unbelievably frustrating. Just this week I made it clear that I did NOT have time to edit the Roger credits, yet no one helped me out and I ended up having to do them anyway. I love this class and the people in it, but I am not having nearly as much fun as I used to, and it actually makes me a little sad. Seriously I know everyone is busy but THE FLASH IS A CLASS TOO. It helps if you realize that stories and other projects are homework assignments, too. And also, if we all get together and film credits early, it is fun. I promise (Single Ladies, anyone?). I don't mean to be harsh, but I really want everyone to come together for these last few months and have fun and work hard. If we do that, I think it will show in the show itself.

5. Yes, I helped out when the Cub Scouts came in to take a tour, and I also worked at the concession stand last night.

6. I'm done being angry, I promise :) Haha.

Hey, this is Colleen.
1. This Quarter so far I have helped film for the summer activities credits and help in the filming of the Roger credits. I also made the open for our Valentine’s show. I help every day with the 4 Cast and have a job for our show almost every week. My strengths as a student in this class I think are that I am always willing to show someone how to do a job that I know how to do and they don’t, or point out the little details that some people tend to look over. I try to do thing in a way that gets things done early like crawl graphics and when I don’t have a job I try to pick up little jobs that need to be done.
2. I am still trying to learn how to make things more interesting for our audience, and by watching and observing what other people have done I am starting to gain a sense of what works and what doesn’t. I have also become a little less bad luck prone which is nice, or maybe I have just learned how to fix things. Whatever it is I hope it stays that way.
3. Things I still need to improve on are my volunteering. After a year and a half I still cannot say I will do a story that involves interviewing people I don’t know and going to places I have never been to. I keep telling myself that I will take that story, but every time the opportunity is presented to me to do something like that I chicken out. I would love to learn how to have the confidence to do that stuff. It is also half way through the year and I still have not anchored yet. I have every intention of doing it once this year but haven’t brought myself to do it yet.
4. To make The Flash a better show I think we could start changing our style up a little bit. We need to find things that we can do but are different from anything else we have ever done in the past. Whether it is show themes, credits, or story ideas, a change from the ordinary could be nice.
5. The things I have done and plan to do for my community service are on Friday I did basketball game concessions. I am also helping Ms. Fruin make her student teacher’s teaching video, and if we do film the boy’s basketball game on Friday I am planning on helping with that too.
6. I am trying to be better with certain things like anchoring and especially stories; I just need a little push.

Hey it's Peter,

1. So far this quarter I did the story on the academy awards. As well I have been globecaster once so far and a camera once. Also most show days I help out with getting the lighting ready for the show. My strengths arre coming up with some creative ideas for stories and helping out around the sutdio for shows.

2. I come to know how to work more and more electrical equipment in and outs of the studio. For instance I understand more about microphones and microphone cables, and lights and how to adjust them to work as optimaly as possible.

3. I want to become a better anhor as well I would like to learn how to work some of the other adobe softwares such as after effect and photoshop so that I can apply those skills to our show.

4. Well I think it would be great if we can try and do more stories that aren't just about EV, as well to break away from the standard story. also try and work on both stories and credits far in advance so that they can be of much better quality.

5. No not yet, but I think I'm going to come in and help with the basketball game on friday so that should be my community service.

6. Nope, just everyone keep up the good work!

Hello its kelsey north!

1. So far I have done random jobs for shows like floor director, camera, vtr, and i did the teleprompter like 4 times. I also did a story on the boys basketball team (which the 4cast stole my footage it took forever to get of drew and im still mad at thank you very much). I was in those one can i have your number credits, and I went to the blood drive place to get an interview and b-roll with kait for hannah's story.

2. As far as improvement goes, I actually knew how to edit my story so it wasn't super boring of just game footage. I also got to work on it early (which is normally hard for me to do haha) and i was done by tuesday yayy! :)

3. I need to improve on not being scared to ask people I don't know for interviews and footage and stuff. I think I said this last time but I still need to work on it.

4. WE NEED A NEW OPEN. and become more efficient at planning because it seems to take us forever. people volunteer for things at the last minute just because nobody else will but if you really can, just say that from the beginning.

5. Yup I worked at the concessions stands for the basketball game. It was bomb and I kinda had more fun doing that than actually watching the game woohoo

6. Yay Flash! Keep helping others out because it makes for a better story when we are able to help get footage, interviews, ideas, etc. for other people and its a lot less stressful!

Hey guys this is Mark!

1. This quarter I have been doing a lot of work behind the scenes. Doing teleprompter, cameras, and floor directing. I've been trying to help out a lot with credits too. I hope to do a little bit more as this quarter moves forward.
2. One improvement I've seen in myself is being more independent. When I'm doing jobs or working on the editor I no longer need to ask for help from people. I've started to just do it naturally. I've also learned how to master the infamous teleprompter. I no longer mind doing that job because I have figured it out.
3. One thing I do need to improve on is my ability to take charge of things. I've always been very big on helping people out and doing whatever they asked of me, but never took the lead on credits or anything. I would like to maybe try and take the lead on stories or credits more often because I understand that the same people are kind of taking them every single time.
4. I agree with what everyone has said so far that we need to start working together more. I feel the frustration from the people that have done stories week after week and keep getting stuck with credits. But I also feel that some people get a little freaked out with having to take charge of a story. I don't know if maybe we have to start putting two people on a story or what but either way we need to start working as a group. I also feel like there is a lot of tension in our class right now. The people that are doing all the work are upset with people who they feel aren't doing their fair share. I think we have to find some way to start liking eachother again because there is a lot of bad mouthing about people and it is starting to affect or performance on television.
5. I have not done my community service yet. but I hope to help out with the live basketball broadcast and pick up some community service for that.
6. Everyone has been doing a good job so far this quarter. Lets try to help people out who need it and overrall just get back to what this class is really all about, and thats having FUN!!

hey its barry

1. So far this quater i've done lots of jobs including vtr, cameras floor director and anchor. I also just did an IM basketball story and have also helped out with a few other stories. I feel that i know how to do many jobs and that is my strength in this class

2. I have seen personal improvement in helping out around the studio. I am also becoming better at doing jobs and getting different camera shots.

3. I still want to become better at using my time effectivly and not putting things off i procrastinate on every story i do.

4. We need a new open for sure and i think that now that everyone is finishing with their winter activities we can have more people step up to do stories and help out so it's not all on the same people. Also, we should maybe try and do some community stories if anything cool is going on outside of school that students can participate in. And we could always use more participation in the credits to make them funny!

5. Yes i worked concessions for a bit then i am also doing a highlight tape for Michael Friedman and i also showed the boy scouts around the studio.

6. Keep having everyone participate because our shows are going really well so far!

1. This quarter so far I've completed two stories- The JDRF Walk and the Jazz Band. I've retrieved B-roll and interviews for various stories, anchored with Mark, and did various jobs like teleprompter, cameras, crawl graphics, etc.

2. I've improved in completing stories early. I've already done two this quarter and both were done long before Thursday. :]

3. I need to make sure to check audio before I come back with my tape. Twice the interviews have been icky. I covered well though! Also, I need to get started on my video yearbook stuff & if I'm doing my story to submit for the stormwatch.

4. I think people who have more time on their hands and haven't necessarily done much work yet should volunteer to help out more.

5. I completed my community service this quarter- I worked concessions with the crew this past Friday. It was fun playing with Dr. K's baby too. :]

6. Eating should be allowed in class. :]

Kait here.

1. So far this quarter I did a story on the Voices of Hope Singathon for cancer, I got B-roll and an interview for Hannah's story on the blood drive, and I anchored this past show. I think that my strengths are editing, at least thats my favorite thing to do so I hope I'm decent at it?

2. I have seen improvement on my willingness to do stuff. Since dance ended and my calender has opened up I've been able to help out and participate a lot more than in the past and I like that.

3. I think that I could still improve on my creativity. I think I do relatively the same thing with each story and my style is often the same from time to time so I think I should do a story that is more out of my comfort zone to push my creativity next time.

4. I cant really say this because we are all guilty and I've done this plenty of times but I think that people need to be more willing to help so that the same people dont have to do stuff every week and I think that if people commit to something they need to follow through. Again, I'm guilty too.

5. No, I haven't done my community service yet.

6. Nah im good

Tom Bauer in da house...

1. I think I'm anchoring this thursday with K North; I've done the LDT Story on state, I assisted Barry with his IM Basketball story, Kelsey North with her Boys Basketball Story, and Paige with her Boys Swimming story; i also was in the 4Cast's open and their upcoming Mean Girls Show open; also the STN News story (though Emma did the most on that I just did some editing). I think i'm good at helping people get their stories and ideas under control as well as managing my time now.. i finished my story on tuesday :)

2. I've improved on how quick I can edit things and actually set aside a time to get the job done well and not spend excessive time on half-hearted editing that takes more time than it should. also i'm better at helping people because i do that quite a bit.

3. i still need to improve on spending time on my own stories, i spend time helping people a lot but i would like it to be the other way around sometimes where i have the stories and people help me, especially when i have two full time activities going on now in Bravo and Baseball

4. a new open is necessary, it needs to be of eastview and people are sick of seeing our faces, we need to have the rest of the school (the people we're actually broadcasting to) on screen as much as possible because people like to see their friends on TV more then us, and the open would be a place to broadcast that, also a news set b/c i still feel like it isn't our but instead the class of like '07s or '08s, and i REALLY wanna paint those editors if we're allowed which i think we should be..

5. i have indeed.. i did the LDT managers video for the teams trip to state which was very funny, also me and Barry are doing Michael Friedman's hockey highlight tape which isn't community service really but is outside of class..

6. i want to paint the editors really bad. i think people need to chill out and have more fun in class. we should have our lock in after spring break :)

Hey, this is Megan!

1) This Quarter I have really been an active member of the Flash, I feel. I have done a story on the one act play, as well as helped out with many others such as the polar bear plunge story for Peter, the blood drive story for Hannah, and others. I have also helped out with credits for almost every week, and even edited the spring fever ones personally. Needless to say, I have been working A LOT this quarter.
I think my strengths are my flexibility. I can help people who are in need, and not have to worry about my schedule. There are rarely moments when the Flash is not a major priority in my day.

2)I have seen improvements in many areas of skills. First, with the editing. I now know how to do slow motion and speed increase, as well as add graphics to the screen. I was really interesting to learn, and even better incorporating them into my story.
Next, I have evolved as simply a member. In the first months of the Flash, I really didn’t feel like part of the unit. Everyone seemed to know each other and already click. But now I feel like I am a part of that unit. People are beginning to ask me questions and let me in to what they are doing.

3)I can be more organized. I feel like we as a class miss a lot of events and shows. If we were all a little more organized, we could be filming some of those events. That could be an improvement that we need to take.
I want to lean much more on the computer for this quarter. Not Andrew level, but simple things that build on what I already know. That would be nice.

4) Simply, if people volunteered more. I know that in the past quarters I have not been the most willing of people. But I have really stepped up, and now I know how people like Ryan and Emma and others feel. It is so ANNOYING when you are doing all of this work and no one seems willing to put any effort into it like you are. It bugs me when people say that they are busy. We all are. Since the quarter began, me dad has been thinking I’m avoiding him because I am never home. But really I am just doing the Flash stuff. And I am not even the most volunteering of people. There are others who do more work that I do.

5) I don’t know if I did my community service this quarter or not. There have been so many things going on, I don’t remember if I did or not. I will have to answer that later.

6) Not really. Just work hard and remember that everyone else is busy as well. Also remember that Roger cannot jump on a trampoline- despite what Karlee thinks.

Ryan here!

1. This quarter I've done a couple things for The Flash. I did the NHS Dodgeball story in early February and I helped film the PDA credits for the 2 days that I was there that week. I also helped out with the spring fever credits two weeks ago. My strengths as a student in this class include being consistent, reliable and flexible. All of which I think are important in a class like ours.

2. In my individual skills I have seen the most improvement in my willingness to do dumb things in front of the camera. It just takes a little exposure and then you build up immunity to it. On a more serious note, I have also become a much better writer this quarter and my a-roll has been much improved.

3. I still need improvement in my time management skills. This is a big one that holds back the quality of some of my products. I also need improvement in my camera and editing-knowledge, because that would be helpful when filming and editing.

4. I think like almost everyone else above that a new open is in store for us. One that gets out of the tv studio and shows more of the kids around school would be good. We also need to keep working on planning further ahead of time, especially with credits.

5. Yep! I did concessions at the bball game the other night and I did a stellar job on the hot dog position.

6. Let's keep having fun and let's push eachother to do even better.

Hey! Hannah here.

1) This quarter I have reported on the blood drive story and have also helped taped for a few stories and brainstormed for credits. One of my strengths this quarter has continued to be leadership. I try my best to keep the group focused and on task so that we can get a good schedule up and running for shows in the future.

2) I think I have improved a lot with my editing and camera skills. I have learned more about each and feel more comfortable working with both the camera and editors.

3) I can always keep working on editing and being more creative with camera shots. I would also like to directly help out more with stories and credits, whether that be getting b-roll or heading up a credits or whatever. For the remainder of third quarter I would like to learn different/more editing tricks that will hopefully improve my work in the class.

4) I think the Flash has improved tremendously this year. There is always room for improvement though and like Mr. Krebs said, we have reached the point where a few people are doing most of the work. If we can get to an equal share, our show will get so much better and also be a more enjoyable thing for all of us.

5) I have yet to do my community service for the quarter.

6) stop the madness =)
chipotle chipotle chipotle.
i love us =)
