1. I took part in a lot of things this quarter I helped with a good amount of the shows this quarter and also with stories and credits. I think that I bring alot of good ideas to the class and also I feel that I know alot about the studio so I can assist my classmates when they need my help.
2. I think that my editing has gotten better. I have really started to take a look at how I edit stories and I think it has reflected in my stories.
3. I think that I my writing could use some more work. I have been trying harder to really slow down and take a look at what I am writing and trying to put alot of thought into what I saw so I can get the message accross as best I can.
4. I think that we should do more with stuff that is going on around the community and find out about them far in advance so we can let everyone at EVHS know what is going on.
5. I helped set up for the boys basketball game broadcast and I also anchored it on Feburary 29, 2008.
6. Nope everything is good.
1. This quarter I worked a lot more in the control room. I did audio a few times, director, vtr, and a couple of stories. I think I'm pretty good at directing and vtr.
2. I've definitely improved in discussions. I'm willing to listen to more ideas as well as come up with some new ones.
3. I think I can improve in my work outside of class. I could donate more of my time to extra stuff here in the studio. I'd like to do two stories in Q4 and learn how to globecast.
4. I think we should continue to bring new material in the form of stories and work on evening out the responsibilities. I think there are a few kids who do a majority of the work in the class. We could divide it up more evenly and all take on a few more responsibilities.
5. I helped my mom's class work on a video presentation.
6. No other comments.
1. This quarter I worked on one story and helped with numerous other stories and credits. I also contributed two stories to the Storm Watch. I feel that I'm a helping hand in the class. If approached to help with something, I usually try to do my best to help out.
2. Thanks to the Bob Dotson book, I feel like I'm really paying attention to the writing and telling of my stories. I've become a better storyteller, and I think my stories have improved because of it.
3. I still don't know how to Globecast, I would like to figure that out for next quarter. I'd also like to do a few more stories and participate more in the making of the credits.
4. I think our show is great, but I feel that discussions could go better. Its difficult, but I feel like we all need to sit down and plan without distraction. That way we can plan without taking 50 minutes to do so.
5. In addition to a Storm Watch story about the one act, I've been woring on compiling footage for the Hoop-A-Thon to put on their website. I did the story in Febuary and am currently working on the compiling now.
6. Nope, I think its going well.
1. This quarter I did the Operation Glass Slipper story for both the Flash and the Storm Watch. I also anchored a show with Matt and was the Globecaster for many of the Flash Shows this quarter. I think my strengths are in the tech aspect of the Flash with editing and running graphics and cameras.
2. I think that this quarter I have gotten much better as a globecaster, and through our work with the Bob Dotson book a better story teller.
3. I believe that my stories could still use some work with the voice overs and the writing aspect making them more clear and brief to let the interviews tell the story.
4. During this quarter I think that as a class we have gotten much better, with our stories and presenting them in a more formal way. I think that our anchoring segments could use the most work. They tend to be either kind of cheesy or super formal and not interesting.
5. For my community service, I did the Storm Watch story and Im sure I did other stuff but I cant think of it at the moment, when i think of it I'll add it to here.
6. Nope I think that we are doing well as a class.
1. This quarter I have done most of the jobs in the studio. I have done globecaster two or three times which is a major job in the production of a show.
2. I have improved in working the globecaster and I have also learned a lot of new things on the editors for when I do stories.
3. I think that I still need to improve on joining in on class discussions and giving my ideas. Also I think that I should try and do a few stories next quarter.
4. I think that our class discussions have gotten better but I think that they could still improve.
5. For community service I have worked on my video year book story on the Girls hockey team. Otherwise Im not really sure if I did any.
1.I was involved in many of the weekly shows, including anchoring, teleprompting, directing, camera operating, and floor directing. I also reported the St. Patrick’s Day campus question story, and assisted with credits. At the conclusion of the quarter I put together the Video Yearbook story for Competition Cheerleading. My strengths in the class are ability to do each job well, and edit stories together in the most effective way possible.
2.I have seen improvement in my ability to interview individuals for stories. I attempt to retrieve meaningful quotes by using the various tactics we have discussed throughout the quarter.
3.I really would like to perfect my skills, or lack thereof, using the globecaster. I have never been savvy at the technology, or making quick switches, but I would like to improve during this final quarter of school.
4.I think we could all participate more, and offer our time to completing stories and doing outside-of-school tasks. Everyone in the Flash is busy it isn’t just one person. So, everyone needs to overload on responsibilities sometimes instead of only doing the bare minimum, and watching the quality of the show suffer.
5.For community service I finished the Video Yearbook segment for Competition Cheerleading, as well as beginning to put together the senior video for our class, and I am also in the process of putting together the Spring Dance Show slideshows/videos, which include video clips, interviews and pictures from the year to be shown at the performances in June
1. Valentine's Day Story
Leap Year Story
Teacher Marriages Story
I was Camera a few times
I anchored
I like making stories
2. Well, I anchored for the first time, so I guess thats an improvement. Ive been getting better at interviewing people for stories.
3. I need to get better at framing shots. I need to get better at most of the studio jobs. I need to get better at not procrastinating.
4. I think we have gotten much better have trying to focus on having intresting angles in our stories, working on that even more would be great.
5. I am Editing a video for Dakota Woodlands Homeless Shelter.
6.None.
1. This quarter I was involved in multiple credits and I helped out with stories. I was also involved in almost every weekly show by either anchoring, directing or doing other possible jobs. I try and bring a lot of new and interesting ideas to the class. I also enjoy anchoring and directing and would say that is where my strengths are.
2. I have really improved on interviewing people for stories. I think that making them feel as comfortable as possible in front of the camera is the most important part.
3. I need to at least attempt to globecast, so I can improve at that job. I also need to stop eating in class and snapping at Mr. Krebs.
4. I think we need to remember who our audience is and that our job is to entertain them and make them want to watch the show.
5. I filmed the boys basketball game in February, 2008.
6. Everyone should respect the treat list and the bad people list.
1. This quarter, I assisted multiple stories and helped film even more. I also anchored the flash and the storm watch, did a video yearbook story, and had a job for nearly every show. I think that my strengths are helping others when they need anything around the studio, as well as giving ideas for story topics/angles.
2. I think my individual improvement has been with the discussions and brainstorming sessions during class. I'm more open to others ideas and using it to help the class as a whole.
3. I think i still need improvement on anchoring, but still try my best. I want to learn how to create graphics and how to use after effects and/or photoshop.
4. I feel that our show has gotten much better from the beginning of the year, but our discussion and brainstorming sessions still take too long due to people being "social butterflies" cough cough deirdre.
5. I helped set up and was a cameraman for the boys basketball broadcast on Feb. 29th, 2008.
6. Nope
1. This quarter i took part of a couple stories. One on NCAA betting, and another on Ice Fishing. I did a live basketball broadcast that we sent in to STN spring nationals. I also worked on a few credits. I believe my strengths are working behind scenes and editing. I really like working with a deadline and getting a product done in that time.
2. I have seen more improvement in my use of time while working on stories. Instead of just finishing them the night before, I try to get them done on Tuesday.
3. I still believe I need improvement on my anchoring skills. I want to learn how to anchor better and maybe anchor more flash shows. My two goals are to anchor adleast two Flash shows, and Direct adleast one.
4. More discussions on what we really want with the show. We need to discuss better on the smart board.
5. I did a live basketball broadcast for the Eastview vs. Jefferson game. It was on February 29th.
6. no everything is going fine.
1. I anchored for the first time ever which was huge! I did jobs almost every single show, I assisted several stories. My strengths are helping others.
2. I anchored and did fantastic. There were technical difficulties in that show but I held it together.
3. I still need improvement on doing stories, I'm not the best. Next quarter, I want to learn how to globecast, and be a better editor for story.
4. Improvements to the flash should be better planning somehow.
5. Community service I was on live TV answering telephones on the TPT telethon on Sunday March 2.
6. No.
1. I did most of the jobs for the show. I did my fantastic story with little to no help on the Blood Drive. My strengths as a student in the Flash are volunteering to help out and then following through and helping out.
2. I have improved on my editing abilities, working on a story by myself helped me become more independent and gave me more editing knowledge.
3. I still need to improve on globecasting. Next quarter, I plan to shadow a few times so that I am very prepared when it comes my day to globecast.
4. An improvement that should be made to the Flash is better organization. We need to figure out the camera situation and keep track of them. Large group discussions should have better focus and purpose to everyone involved.
5. For my community service I was a volunteer at the TPT telethon on Sunday March 2. I answered telephones on live TV for the public television in the Twin Cities. The floor director, camera operators, and "talent" gave me a better idea of how the Flash can prepare me for a future career in television if I so choose that path.
6. Not applicable.
1. i assisted stories, did stories. anchored once. and directed once. i think i can get things done in the clutch well.
2. i've done a better job making my stories.
3. i need improvement with my brainstorming. i want to make another worthwhile story and direct better.
4. i think people need to start their stories much more in advance. it really makes the story better when the majority of the filming is done the week before.
5. i made the wrestling highlight video for the THIRD time without payment. :(
6. nope. leubner is a loser
1.) This quarter I was involved in several things regarding the Flash. I did the "Teen Driving" story on the first show of the quarter as well as anchored at least twice. I think that I bring a lot to this class in certain areas such as story writing as well as on air abilities.
2.) I think that I improved the most in my story writing ability this quarter. I also think that it showed in my teen driving story that aired on the star tribune.
3.) Overall, I think that I could improve on the technical aspect of our shows. I am still relatively unsure with my abilities in globecaster.
4.) I think that we need to take a different angle on some of the topics we choose to do stories on. I know that we have done a lot this year to alliviate this tendency, but more could be done.
5.) I helped set up the boys basketball broadcast on Feb. 29, 2008.
6.) Everything is goin well.
1. I participated in many of the shows this quarter by doing the jobs of camera, floor director, vtr and director. I also assisted people on atleast two stories and helped out with a couple of the credits. My strengths are editing and doing the jobs of vtr and director.
2. I have improved in my ability to tell a story in a more interesting way to the audience. Watching the Bob Dotson stories helped me with this.
3. I can always improve in finding different angles that are more interesting to tell my stories. I can work on getting more unique B-roll as well. I would like to work on a more in depth story about one person and also improve my directing skills for next quarter.
4. I think we did a much better job planning shows as a class this quarter but can still work on that.
5. For community service I made edited together a DVD for Franco from when the special needs kids came to visit the Flash and danced and sang in front of the green screen.
6. Nope!
1.This quarter I completed a story on the 400th show, produced the Teen Driving piece as the photojournalist, assisted on various stories and I directed and produced The Storm Watch. Oh and I anchored with Shannon a bunch. I also completed a number of jobs. I think my strengths vary from answered people's questions to organizing projects such as the storm watch.
2. I definitley improved on my construction and layout of stories. I also had experiences which led me to become a better problem solver.
3. I need to do a better job of thinking outside the box when it comes to stories and planning sessions.
4. One idea I had that a usually forget to mention is that we could set up an email account for our audience to either make comments about our show or offer story ideas. Then we could promote it by mentioning it during the show like WCCO often does for their website.
5. I was the photojournalist for the teen driving story, I directed and produced the storm watch. I also helped teach Mr. Franco's kids about some of the stuff we do in the studio.
6. Nada
1. I anchored with James, I filmed and helped with the blood drive story and I did jobs during the show. I think I am good at thinking of ideas while planning.
2. I improved on editing stories, and putting together a story that is oh a much better quality than we did last year.
3. I still want to anchor more, and i hope that I can do a story on Best Buddies in the near future.
4. I think that we need to make sure that we bring back the cameras, because we have had a lot of problems with people having cameras in their cars.
1. I've done two stories (Diabetes and Band Trip) and helped with various credits. I feel my strengths in the class lie in getting good camera shots, especially for credits.
2. I've seen an improvement in my voice over writing skills
3. I'd still like to become a better story writer and I'd like to do another (good) credits for 4th quarter.
4. Funnier credits, and more productive meetings
5. Fiddler Video Yearbook Story, finished this week
6. Nope
1. I globecasted a few times, helped out on a couple stories, and ran a camera a few times. In this class, I feel my strengths are working behind the scenes.
2. This quarter I worked to improve my editing and learning how to make my camera shots better. Helping out on different stories allowed me to see others and what they do.
3. I still need improvement in my on camera personality. I want to make myself more comfortable in front of a camera. Also, I want to direct.
4. I think The Flash should do more student spotlights of cool things that EVHS students do.
5. I helped setup the boys basketball game and anchored with Mike L. February 29, 2008.
