1. I have made a basketball and snow activities story. i try a variety of jobs. i am working on a boys basketball highlight tape. i feel that i am a fairly knowledgable person when it comes to the globecaster. i also think i edit stories well.
2. i have seen improvement in directing and overall storytelling.
3. i think i need more work in anchoring. how to tell longer stories. making a story fo the storm watch, and doing a live basketball broadcast.
4. more focus during planning time.
5. the eagan basketball broadcast, on 1/25/08.
6. no other comments
the first post is mine
1.I worked on producing the Storm Watch. I reported a story on Christmas Trees and also assisted on various stories. I think my strengths are in writing stories, directing and editing.
2. I believe I have become more comfortable reporting when it comes to finding interviewees and asking more unique questions.
3. I need to improve on managing my workload this quarter. I think that if I start out working hard I can keep it up. I would like to get everything from the fall deadline of the video yearbook finished and I would also like to produce a more lengthy feature story for use on the Storm Watch.
4. Getting everyone involved in discussions.
5. Broadcast the boy's basketball game vs. Eagan on 1/25/08.
6. This is much better than portfolios.
1) This quarter, I was an anchor for the storm watch in addition to anchoring two shows. I also made the "Hallway Enforcer- Corey Fienhage" credits as well as the "Sledding Bloopers" credits. I think my strengths include anchoring as well as editing stories.
2) I have seen improvement in my stories more specifically, storytelling. I have tried to focus my stories and to use unique angles to make them more interesting.
3) I think that I need more on the technical aspects of the show. I am fairly weak on the Globecaster.
4) If we have more focus and more involement during planning time, we will have more time to work on stories in class. Maybe we should break into small groups to brainstorm stories. It seems like we get more done when we have less people in class.
5) Eagan basketball broadcast on 1-25-08. I also helped Mrs. Geiselhart with her Christmas video of her family.
6) Definately better than the portfolio.
1. This quarter I did 2 stories, The Book Publishing and The Abby Invite. I also anchored a couple times and did various jobs like teleprompter, etc. My strengths are for the most part writing scripts and anchoring but I also think I do well in random problem solving, like figuring out how to make the VTR not jumpy or untangling the audio cords.
2. I've seen improvement on my editting/adding effects on videos. It's not awesome as some of the other kids can do, but in terms of my own personal improvement I think I've come a long way.
3. I definately need to improve my globecaster skills given the fact that I haven't done it yet this year. So my two goals are 1: Learn about the GB 2: Use the GB! :)
4. (As corny as it sounds) More team unity. I feel like some of us are a little cliquey sometimes. I think we should have some sort of get together where we can just hang out, get to know each other and not have to worry about stories or deadlines, etc. (Pizza party at my house?)
5. I can't remember if doing an STN story counts, but if not then I haven't done any...
6. I'd have to add to the general consensus that this online thingy is better than the folders for sure! Yay Flash! :D
1. I did the Minnesota Wild story for the Flash and I also helped Dan Coyle with the Boys Hockey Story. I also did a few segments of credits. I think that I bring alot of good ideas to the class and I also help people out when they have technical questions that I know the answer to.
2. I have seen my skills improve in story writing.
3. I still need improvement on my camera shots they tend to be boring and not interesting. I want to learn how to transfer the script from word to the teleprompter. One goal is to anchor next quarter and my other goal is to stop being a lazy person.
4. I think that the stories should tell a better story and not just be a recap but go deeper into the issue.
5. I announced a basketball game with my good buddy Dan "the man" Coyle
6. None we are doing good things here.
1. This quarter I worked on two stories, one about Sadies and one about new restaurants. I also helped Cassie with the Intramural Basketball story. I think my stengths in this class are my skills at each of the jobs and I think i generally do a pretyt good job with stories.
2. Some of the things I've improved on over the year have been anchoring, script writing, and better stories (with better b roll and camera shots).
3. Some areas i still need improvement are on planning ahead so that I have more time to finish stories and do a better job on them and being a good reporter in getting good interviews (making interviewee feel comfortable/not awkward).
4. Plan further ahead so people can have more time to finish stories and do a better quality job on them.
5. I didn't do a community serice. : [ sorry!
1. I have done most of the jobs this quarter. I also did the girl's hockey story. I think that my strengths are doing most of the jobs in the studio.
2. I think that I have gotten better at working Globecaster and also working with people better.
3. I think that i can still work on my editing and writing skills for the stories that I work on. By next quarter I would like to accomplish learning how to edit better and teach myself how to make graphics for the show.
4. I think to make the show better we need to improve your stories and also to have our class discussions be more organized. I think that we get into arguments and disagreements to much to actually have a good planning meeting.
5. Making dvd copies of more of my lacrosse games and also helping a freind with a video project for one of her classes.
1. I did a Storm Watch story on Mr. Sharp as well as the IM Basketball story and helping Moe with her New Restaurants story. I did a good variety of the jobs and helped out with some of the credits. My strengths are editing stories and anchoring.
2. I have improved in being more comfortable while anchoring and doing Globecaster. Also with reporting and editing stories.
3. I can still improve my Globecasting skills as well as Audio ones. My goals are to report a story with a more interesting angle and to be involved with the live broadcast of a game.
4. During discusions we need to listen to everyone, not just wait to share our own opinions. Planning goes more smoothly with less people involved.
5. I did the Storm Watch story at the beginning of the quarter.
6. agreed that this is way better than portfolios!
1.
This quarter I have reported two stories. First story I reported was the Macy's Day Parade story where I spotlighted five Eastview girls who were selected to dance in the Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York. The second story I reported was the Campus Question - type story that asked students what they're family traditions were. I have also anchored, and been a part of each show, doing various jobs and helping out. My strengths in The Flash is being active with class discussion and brain storming of ideas, as well as all of the jobs I know what I am doing and I am decently talented at editing stories together.
2. I have seen improvement in myself in my editing skills. Especially since STN I have noticed I understand how to use more effects and use them effectively.
3. I still need improvement on reporting stories that are interesting and stray from the common three interviews and a stand-up traditional way we have always done it in the past. One goal I have for next quarter is to report a story that has a unique angle and is unique and interesting to the audience, my second goal is to do globecaster well for a Flash show.
4. I need to stop using my cell phone during class. It is a bad habit.
5. I helped Ashley Coyne create a short video for Kelsey Bestul. Kelsey was creating a video compilation of pictures and movie clips of her parents for their wedding anniversary. We created the video and gave it to Kelsey to show at their wedding anniversary party.
1. This quarter I did one story and am in the process of doing another, I provided a storm watch story as well as jobs in the studio. I've found that my strength is organizing stories, not filming them.
2. I've seen a big improvement in my ability to perform a multitude of jobs. I feel much more comfortable having different roles in the studio.
3. I still need to improve in the technical aspect. I'm afraid of the globecaster and fixing things in the studio is impossible for me. I'd like to globecast once and teleprompt once.
4. We should continue to do a variety of stories. I think we do a lot of sports stories but we've done better with reporting on different topics.
5. Storm watch story.
6. No
1. This quarter I did a story for the Storm Watch, completed a story for the holiday show, anchored my first flash episode. I also assisted with numerous stories and credits and completed a variety of jobs. I think my strengths are in my willingness to help. If I have the time, I usually take on the responsibility of a story or offer to help.
2. I think my stories have gotten better, or are more interesting to the viewer.
3. I have no idea how to run the globecaster and I want to contribute a bit more to the class. I've been busy, and I feel as if I could have done more
4. The whole "tell the story" thing by focusing on a different angle is a good idea. I'd love to see some growth there. As far as the class, I always feel unproductive and frusterated during our planning sessions. Maybe there's a new forum in which we could brainstorm.
5. I did a Storm Watch story and helped my cousin with a video she made for her final project in some class at the U.
6. Agreed, i like this better than the posts
1. I did the dance team story and also helped Ashley C with the coffee story and the campus question story, I anchored and had a job nearly every show. My strengths as a student are helping brainstorm/class discussion, and being willing to help others with stories.
2. I have seen the most improvement in my storytelling and and helping others with various things like stories and technical jobs.
3. I need to improve my enthusiasm when I anchor. I have a monotone voice that isn't good for TV. I want to learn how to make graphics next quarter, the ones we use aren't even made by a current flash member. My two goals are to lead two stories and anchor with enthusiasm.
4. Better discussion's. It takes as 45 min to accomplish something that could take 10.
5. I worked the concessions stand at the boys basketball game on Friday, January 25th.
6. This blog is way better than doing a portfolio...
1. This quarter, I really tried to expand my knowledge of what I knew how to do in respect to editing. I did a movie review story towards the beginning of the quarter which I thought went very well. I spent a lot of time on it and I learned new techniques while editing. I also took advantage of a lot of the jobs we have for our show. Not only did I do my own story, but I also helped people with theirs and was an active participant in this quarter’s credits.
2. I have seen improvement in my individual skill both on, and behind the camera. This quarter, I anchored for the first time on the flash and I think that was a big step in me getting comfortable in front of the camera. I also learned new techniques in how do edit stories and how to add different effects to my packages. Also, when I went to the STN convention, I learned quite a bit about what makes a good story and what a good story’s structure looks like.
3. I think that I need the most improvement in learning all the jobs. Next quarter, I would really like to learn how to globecast because I think it would be a fun and challenging experience. I would also like to learn how to make graphics. Although I have not expressed much interest in this particular skill, I think it could be a fun skill to learn.
4. Something that I think we as a class could do to improve our overall shows is to have everyone take pride in what they are doing. I think that if everyone put more effort into their stories, scripts etc., we could pull of a very good show.
5. I actually did two things for my community service. The first community service opportunity I did was I went to the PBS Telethon and answered pledges. I was on camera, and I got to see how a real live production is produced (December). The second thing I did was I did concessions with the Flash at the boy’s basketball game (January).
6. I like this blog format much better then the portfolio deal!
1. I did and helped out on a bunch of stories as well as almost all of the credits. I California I did a story and a contest. I also did a storm watch story on adapted sports. My strengths are, for sure, doing stories. I feel like my writing and creativty has grown in that area. I'm also good at directing.
2. I've seen major improvments in my editing. I actually know what i'm doing now.
3. I'm still not that good at the whole technical side of things. I've never globecasted because I think that I will screw it up. I guess two goals could be to try and learn all about graphics and th\o actually Globecast next quarter.
4. I think that people need to make time for the flash instead of "fitting" it into thier schedule. If we make this show a priority we can do amzaing things.
5. Last weekend I helped film and edit our churches lock-in video and yesterday I filmed my gymnastics class and I also was a cord puller at a basketball game
6. YAY
1. I globecasted for the holiday how. I did a boys hockey story and took part in credits. I am pretty good at the globecaster and having good camera shots.
2. I have improved at coming up with a good angle on stories.
3. I still need imrpovement with enthusiasm when i am on camera. I want to direct and i want to learn the teleprompter process.
4. I think people need to get along more. There is too much arguing.
5. I did the bball game broadcast. A week ago.
6. I think the class is doing well and we just need to keep imrpoving.
1. I reported a story on college applications, I helped with various credits like the griepp who stole christmas, nsync, etc... My strengths are in editing.
2. My skills have improved in story telling because at STN James and I did a the tell the story editing contest.
3. I still need to improve on anchoring because I am bad at that. I want to learn how to globecast. My goals are: anchor and globecast.
4. Improvements should be planning farther ahead of time because often things are last minute and rushed and it is shown in the quality.
5. Community service: i worked concessions at hte basketbal game. I also did teh wild contest.
6. noo.
1. I did the filming for The Super Bowl story, I also assisted with the filming and editing of the College Applications. My strengths are in camera work, and setting up shots
2. I improved a lot in the framing of shots, and setting up dynamic backgrounds for interviews.
3. I need to anchor at some point, and also i need to globecast, so i hope to do that during the 3rd quarter at some point.
4. I think we should plan earlier, and do more work during class time itself so people who are busy after school can help out more, and we can put more time into the project we do
5. I seold concessions at the basketball game
6. Nope
1. Although I didn't do any stories, I shot/directed several credits and I have helped with some other people's stories. I feel my strength is more in the credits creation than story writing, but I need to do more stories to work on my skills. I also think I am knowledgeable in many technical aspects of the show.
2. I have seen improvement in my knowledge of the Globecaster and various other technical parts of the studio.
3. I would like to do more stories and get better at writing stories. I want to do two stories and two credits next quarter.
4. In depth stories are on thing that we need to work on for the Flash. Our stories have drifted more towards the 4cast's style than towards a professional news program. We also need to have people step up and volunteer to do stories and credits.
5. I did a story for the Storm Watch in November and I helped with the basketball broadcast on the 25th.
6. No comments
1. I did the Girls Basketball story. Plus I have helped out on lots of the shows doing almost every job. I think my strengths are in editing stories and directing.
2. I think i got a lot better on the globecaster this quarter, just because I ran it a few times, plus i think that i get better at editing, becuase i get faster the more that i edit.
3. I want to work on creating better stories and getting more relevant interview to tell a story. I also want to anchor, so my two goals are to anchor and create a really impressive story for the stormwatch/flash.
4. Our anchor scripts, we do play a lot off the cheesy puns, and that gets over done and too much sometimes. Also as a class our stand-ups could use some work, along with our stories.
5. I finished the 8th grade registration video thing, about half way through the quarter, i'm sure i also did something else i just cant think of what it was.
6. Sorry this is early in the morning!
1. This quarter I have anchored multiple shows, including the Storm Watch. I also worked on a campus question story, caribou versus starbucks, assisted Erik on the Dance team story and participated in multiple credits. I have done a larger variety of jobs this quarter and have one almost every show. Some of my strengths include anchoring and editing stories.
2. I have definitely improved in directing and script writing.
3. I need to work on eating and using my cell phone during class.
4. Less 4cast like stories and more in depth stories.
5. I helped create a video for Josh Lee and Kelsey Bestul. I also worked on a Zach Ryberg's highlight video with him.
6. I'm sorry I'm just writing this now. I love the flash YAY!
1. I feel like I did more this quarter than I did last quarter. I helped with credits more often, also I composed two stories. I made the Holidazzle story and the Adapted soccer story for the flash. Also I worked on two of the Stormwatch story.
2. I have definitely improved on my editing and my ability to tell the story.
3. I believe I need to work on my knowledge of the software. I'm currently learning motion, photoshop, after effects, color, shake and soundtrack. I think once I master a few of these, I will be able to further improve my editing abilities.
4. I would like to see an improvement in our Credits. This just involves more people being available to help.
5. Stormwatch, STN editing, STN story completion.
6.We need Mac's. Plain and simple.
